Back in the 80s, Marvel Comics had commercial campaigns all the time, and they were even animated! Granted, most of them were for Transformers and GI Joe, and they usually shared animation with the toyline commercials. However, there are a few examples of Marvel commissioning entirely unique animation just to sell a single issue of a comic book. Here’s an ad for Headmasters #1, with animation used nowhere else.
