  1. Sadly (or happily, YOU be the judge!) we never got the live action section of the Super Show in Uruguay, but I did follow Super Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros 3 and Super Mario World.

I DO find many differences in the three shows, story wise, Super Show had always parody/homages going on. SMB3 is pretty close to what would be a literal interpretation of what the games where and Super Mario World sort of used the same formula as SMB3, only with crappier animation and more annoying characters. What`s with the princess` re-design? And how she looked better in the opening credits?! I`m a big fan of the red-head toadstool and her depiction in the show over the blonde crybaby we have these days in the videogames.

As for Sonic, we never got SATAM. All we saw was Adventures and Underground. And I got a bit of the “SATAM” feel on Underground. By feel I mean “Mickey mouse in a cyberpunk future as a freedom fighter” which was sheer WTF-ness…but then came Kingdom Hearts and I became even more confused…By the way…isn`t it odd that a videogame that features so many cartoon characters doesn`t have a cartoon series?

Oh, we also got Sonic X, but that one doesn`t count =P

I always considered the Street Fighter Cartoon the sequel to the movie. Which is so bad that is enjoyable at times, and it did make a better character development arc for Cammy than the current Capcom continuity. Bison`s clone? Seriously? Oh, totally looks like him. Especially the blonde hair, blue eyes, curvy body and short height…wait, whut?

Mortal Kombat suffered with adaptation decay…that`s how we ended up with cartoon series…but remember, it`s not as bad as the direct to video trash “The Journey Begins”…or as bad as Mortal Kombat: Anihilation (choose your destiny: Dragon Jets or Underground Tunnel Travelling Balls?).

Oh, look! It`s the Dark Knight Rises Cartoon opening! http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&NR=1&v=lEmSMvdMH4M

  2. Ah Kid Icarus Uprising looks pretty good, Medusa looks fantastic http://www.videogamesblogger.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/kid-icarus-uprising-3ds-nintendo-world-2011-screenshot.jpg hopefully it plays well, wont be getting a 3Ds until the bigger version comes out, cuz it will.

To bad you dislike Sonic Sat.a.m. I read some of the Archie comic Sonic so I knew alot of the chars in there, which is pretty much what that show is. So when I think of that show, more like the comic book come to life and not the game Sonic.

I think Ben found a new best buddy from Bob, he sounded so happy I couldn’t stop laughing.

  3. I was looking on Netflix for the Street Fighter anime movie you were talking about but I don’t believe any of these are the correct movie. Can you tell me more about it so I can track it down?

Oh, and Neal is right…the Pole Position theme is awesome. I haven’t seen the cartoon in a while so I can’t speak to the show, but the theme song is one of the best of the 80’s.

    • The actual title of the movie is “Street Fighter II: The Movie” or sometimes even “Street Fighter II: The ANIMATED Movie”. You’ll know it when you see it, because it has a VERY mid-90s anime look to it.

Here’s a scene from the dubbed version, which is right around where the famous shower scene got cut, so keep your zipper up, because you’re not going to see anything. Even without it, though, this is probably the best scene in the whole damn movie, and you’ll see why!

Holy shit, I completely forgot about Guile driving Ralley Vincent’s Shelby Cobra in this film.
